Classes & Registration

Irish Dance classes offer traditional dances such as reels, jigs, slip jigs, treble jigs, hornpipes, light jigs, set dances and ceili (team) dances. Dancers will learn techniques along with the importance of setting goals and perseverance. We aim to share the love of Irish Dance with both Irish and Non-Irish students alike in an environment where each student creates goals for themselves and learns how to achieve those goals through discipline and hard work. It is also a great way for students to have fun and make new friends.

Classes

We offer competitive and non-competitive class options for boys and girls ages 4 and up from level Beginner through Champion .

Classes are held every Monday and Thursday evenings at the Hester Academy of Irish Dance studio located at the Ice House in Camden-Wyoming, DE. Occasionally, private lessons are made available.  The teaching year typically runs from September through June. A calendar including special event dates and scheduled closings is provided in advance.

We are fully certified and registered with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha and the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America.

Tuition Information

Tuition is charged September through June* to be paid on the first of each month through cash, check (made out to Hester Academy), or Venmo @James-Hester-5.

  • Group 1: Beginner and Advanced Beginner

    • 1 class per week = 45 mins - $60/month

    • 2 classes per week = 1 hr 30 mins - $95/month

  • Group 2: Novice

    • 1 class per week = 1 hr - $70/month

    • 2 classes per week = 2 hrs - $105/month

  • Group 3: Prizewinner, Prelim, Open

    • 1 class per week = 1 hr 30 min - $95/month

    • 2 classes per week = 1 hr 30 mins - $135/month

Deduct 10% for each additional sibling.

 

*There will be no deductions for scheduled off days/holidays. If Hester Academy is closed due to inclement weather, J.J. will do his best to reschedule all impacted class(es). If J.J. closes due to illness or personal reasons, a deduction will be given for all impacted class(es).

Free Trial Class

The following schedule is for the 2023-2024 dance year. J.J. will send out an email for any additional closings. If a closing is unscheduled, J.J. will do his best to reschedule that class or offer alternative option.
